2021 - 2024

Built up area   - 539 sq.m    (5800 sq.ft )

Local granite stone forms the foundation, while lime-stabilized CSEBs (Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks) are used for masonry and hollow terracotta blocks for the vaults.

Aerated Constructed Wetland Phase II
Kanha Shanti Vanam township, Hyderabad

2026 - Ongoing

Leading the design of a 1 MLD (1000 KLD) Phase II Aerated Constructed Wetland (ACW) in the northern section of Kanha Shanti Vanam, integrating nature-based wastewater treatment with landscape, biodiversity, and public engagement.

The ACW and its surroundings form an integrated Wetland Park, incorporating native planting, ecological water flows, plantation buffers, butterfly gardens, bird-attracting ecotones, and rain gardens for biodiversity, learning, stormwater management, and groundwater recharge. Scope includes site assessment, technical feasibility, hydraulic planning, and design development.

2026 - Planning & D.P.R stage

Leading the rejuvenation of culturally significant urban water bodies through water-sensitive planning, landscape design, structural interventions, and ecological treatment. Scope includes site assessment, master planning, DPR development, technical documentation, and cost estimation.

At West Fort Pond, the proposed strategy combines bioremediation and active aeration; at the Elephant Bathing Pond, floating wetlands and hydraulic zoning address water quality and ecological performance. The project positions waterbody rejuvenation as integrated ecological, infrastructural, landscape, and cultural regeneration.

The design solution for the residential planning scheme took into consideration the inferences derived from the local study of climate & context as well as scalability, flexibility and replicability for the township as a whole. The design grid is based on the traditional Indian architecture methodology which provides a diagrammatic basis for design and arrangement of spaces.

The Prototype house would serve as a catalyst for capacity building initiatives for appropriate planning & design solutions, earth construction and local building technologies.

Area -     3150 sq. ft

The considerations for a fixed time frame for project execution and a limited budget prompted the design process of using mild steel sections as the interior structural framework.

Usage of steel sections and exposed birch ply enabled effective use of double height space, pace of execution and industrial aesthetic

Bhardwaj House near Hyderabad

2021

Built-up area    - 325.15 sq.m   (3500 sq.ft)

Site area            - 376 sq.m        (4047 sq.ft)

The  owner approached us when some part of the house was already built, which he wanted to demolish and start afresh.  We instead proposed retaining the already built structure and develop the new design around it, which would also save time and cost.

Using the existing built structural grid as a canvas, spaces were allocated as per appropriate orientation. The living area sits at an angle to create a sense of entry and to direct circulation towards the house. The living and the dining area along with the roof vaults orient towards the north side.
